Finding Inspiration
I always find myself being particularly drawn to museum archives my favourite being the anthropology displays in Manchester Museum . I spend countless hours drawing the stuffed animals and preserved insects . I became inspired by the arrangements of the displays and the expressive colours and textures ,I find preserved creatures to be macabre yet profoundly beautiful . My development of my designs is also crucial part within the wonderful marks and paper textures which can be created within my sketchbook, using inks, found twigs and old felt tips about to run out. Creating a very loose expressive design .Each little stain, brush stroke or crease on a page can create a whole body of ideas and processes.
