I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005 with a first class BA Honers in three dimensional design. I was the recipient of the 3rd annual MMU graduate exhibition award.

The imperfect handmade nature of my work reflects how memories become blurred over time and that often what we remember is the essence of something : a colour or a feeling.

I use ceramics as a vehicle for story telling,  I hope to connect with the viewer in order to celebrate the people that have shaped my life. My work takes me on a personal journey through my own memories and family stories based in the north of England.

For me my sketchbooks and the process of mark making is essential.  I have also spent many years working in a spontaneous manner using large brush strokes to make sweeping gestural marks, translating my characterful drawings and watercolor washes onto the ceramic surface.
